Engage

There are several ways to engage with us, depending on your interests, availability and level of commitment.

Some people come for a short visit, others stay longer, and a few may explore deeper collaborative relationships as time unfolds.

Ways to Engage

Visit the Farm
For short visits and guided introductions to the land.

Stay Here
For camping and short-term off-grid stays.

Volunteer
For seasonal work exchange and practical learning.

Collaborate Long-Term
For individuals seeking deeper involvement or land-based collaboration.

Visit the Farm

Farm visits are welcome by appointment.

We kindly ask that you contact us in advance so we can plan around daily farm activities. Tours take time away from ongoing work, so a small donation is requested in exchange for visits. This helps support the continued care of the land while allowing us to share what is being built here.

Directions and arrival details are provided after contact.

Stay Here

Quinta das Moitas offers simple off-grid accommodation for people seeking quiet time in nature.

  • camping
  • van parking
  • occasional caravan availability

Suggested contribution: €5–10 per night, depending on setup and length of stay.

Meals

Shared meals may be available depending on workload and season. Meals are simple, mostly vegetarian and largely based around seasonal produce.

Suggested contribution: €5 per meal.

Facilities

  • dry composting toilets
  • bucket showers (hot water when available)
  • eco washing machine
  • limited internet access

This is a rustic, off-grid environment and may not suit everyone.

Volunteer

Volunteering is open during specific periods of the year and focuses on practical, hands-on work that supports the day-to-day needs of the land.

At present, we host volunteers who are able to be semi-self-sufficient with transport and accommodation.

In exchange for 2–3 hours of help per day, one cooked lunch is provided.

Seasonal Periods

  • March – September: Market garden support
  • October – November: Food forest planting and terrace preparation
  • November: Olive harvest

Tasks vary daily depending on weather, season and land priorities.

Collaborate Long-Term

From time to time, longer-term collaborative relationships may emerge.

These are not predefined roles, but conversations that grow organically based on skills, commitment and alignment with the vision of the land.

Possible areas include food production, land management, creative enterprise and infrastructure development.

If you feel drawn to engage in any of the ways above, please get in touch so we can explore what feels appropriate.
